The Devonshire Fell Wedding: Rhodri & Eleanor

A Devonshire Fell Wedding.

Last week I travelled to Burnsall for the wedding of Rhodri and Eleanor. Their wedding was in the beautiful little village of Burnsall at The Devonshire Fell, which over looks the rolling countryside and the river flowing through. It’s sometime easy to forget what a beautiful part of the world we live in, but this particular day served as a great reminder. Last Friday the weather showed it off in all it’s glory with beautiful sunshine starting the day.

Rhodri and Eleanor opted for an intimate wedding with their nearest and dearest. It was so nice to see family and friends alike mix together with ease in each others company and celebrate a truly wonderful couple.

Thank you so much Rhodri and Eleanor for allowing me to be your photographer and be able to document such a beautiful day. xxx Rhodri and Eleanor Wedding Blog_0636 LRhodri and Eleanor Wedding Blog_0740Rhodri and Eleanor Wedding Blog_0635 Rhodri and Eleanor Wedding Blog_0637 Rhodri and Eleanor Wedding Blog_0651 Rhodri and Eleanor Wedding Blog_0638 Rhodri and Eleanor Wedding Blog_0641 Rhodri and Eleanor Wedding Blog_0640 Rhodri and Eleanor Wedding Blog_0639 Rhodri and Eleanor Wedding Blog_0642

The stunning bouquets were designed by The Hedgerow, Threshfield who did a fantastic job. Whilst the guests enjoyed a drink or two, they had Andrew Clegg a Spanish guitarist playing in the back ground who was great. It turned my normal roaming for candids into a subtle cha cha cha! Rhodri and Eleanor Wedding Blog_0715 Rhodri and Eleanor Wedding Blog_0716

A styled Shoot: At sunset

A few weeks ago, myself and Victoria from Victoria Walker Boutique were nattering away – as we do – about wanting to put together a shoot. 2 weeks later it was happening. We joined up with some crazy talented people and got to it. Kate from Haute Couture Bridal, Emma from Emma’s Home & Garden, Brittany from Doll Hair and are fabulous models Fran & Kayleigh.

To be honest, the morning of the shoot the weather was looking a bit meh! But like true pro’s and not actually wanting to put it off – we went ahead. And the weather did what it should always do and  turned out beautiful.  We ran slightly behind schedule, which is always the case and ended up having to chase the light. It felt like the tornado chasers on TV. But way less dangerous and windy.

When you team with a group of people that just click, it feels like a little bit of magic happening. I wrote a post last week about finding people who push you, and that’s what this is to me. I’m finding people of a like creative mind who want to help, inspire and push each other. Unlocking the creative flow is good. Sooo good.

Here are just a few of my faves.

 I know you are thinkig. Ohh horses – how sweet.  That wass our initial feeling. Then they started circling us and attempting to eat the bouquets! Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire Sunset bridal shoot Yorkshire,Yorkshie bridal shoot, Autumn weddings yorkshire

I did make a little video of the shoot. It’s nothing fancy, but I love seeing more than stills and it’s something that I definitely want to do more of.

Find people.

Find people. Find people who inspire you. Who push you. Help you find the artist, the creative,what ever you like to call it   – inside of you. Find people you can learn from. Find people who will tell you the truth  – to encourage you.  This is how you will grow.  All of us at some point struggle  with our vision for what we want. How we want to do things.  Where  we should  start – or sometimes – how to  keep going.  Find people that dare you to dream.

Find people who encourage you to be the architect of your own destiny.

October.

It’s here, we have officially crossed the line – we are in final part of the year. I don’t quite know where the year went. Seriously. However, that being said it’s kind of one of my favourite times. The pace starts to slow – slightly – and I can start to plan for more. Or actually start attempting some of my wee bit crazy ideas I have gathered through out the year so far. Things are coming. Things I am massively scared to attempt. But you  only live once (#YOLO) and I intend to scare myself out of my comfort zone. Daily.

So, hi October. Let’s get this stuff done.

Lifestyle: Emmie

A few weeks I had the absolute pleasure documenting Emmie. Emmie is the little girl of one of my lovely couples who are getting married next year. I love love being asked into peoples lives to do this. I love seeing more of their lives, their relationships and the love they have for their favourite people.

Emmie is a little beauty and it was nice to spend some time with her, big brother Rhoan also got in for a few pictures. Here are a few of my favourites.

I am totally digging black and white at the minute as well… if you can’t tell.

Photography Workshop: Photograph your craft.

When I go online, look through magazines or go into shops I am a sucker for great style and design. When items or  anything is displayed in a way to get your attention, you are so much more likely to purchase, or click through to someones site. Just take Pinterest as an example. You are so much more likely to pin something that catches your eye and  probably continue on to someones site if the styling and images are good. If you shop on Etsy, the well presented items tend to make you think that they are the better purchase options. Am I right? So why should we not apply these proven methods to our own products?

If you create your own items and want to sell them, using simple lighting techniques and shooting approaches can make them so much more sellable – and who doesn’t want to sell more?!

The sewing session, photographing your craft

On 12th October I will be running a photography  morning workshop at The Sewing Sessions base. The course is only £35 and it will cover a range of topics to help you create better images, such as:

* Different types of light and their advantages

* Styling tips

* How to create basic backdrops

* How to save images and resolutions for web size use

* Rule of thirds

* How to shoot your craft for you client and make your craft more sellable

* A basic guide to editing

The course is only for the morning but will be packed with super helpful information and tips to take photographing your images to the next level. Even if you only use an Smartphone, you will pick up handy hints.

If you would like to book your space be quick, there are only 8 spaces available and you can book through The Sewing Sessions website here.

Looking forward to seeing you there.
